Terms of Use
These terms cover the website at periplusai.com and the walkthrough we offer from it. Using Purser itself, once you own a copy, is governed by the written agreement we sign with you at that point; these terms do not replace it. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@periplusai.com and we will explain it in plain words.
What the website is
The website describes Purser and lets you try a working model of its board, its receipt strip, its agent run, its tamper test and its cost calculator. Every one of those demos runs on example data in your own browser and is labelled as such on the page. The demos show how Purser behaves; they are not connected to any live Purser, and the numbers in them are illustrations, not measurements of any real business.
Using the site
You may read the site, use the demos, link to it and quote from it with attribution. You may not scrape it to train a model that then sells our words back as its own, present the demos as a live product, or use the site to send unsolicited mail to the address shown on it. The design, the copy and the images are ours; the fonts are used under their own licences, which are included with the files.
The walkthrough
A walkthrough is a conversation, usually over a call, where we show you Purser on a real customer list if you bring one. Booking one creates no obligation on either side. If you bring data to a walkthrough, it stays on your machine or on a database in your name; we do not take a copy. The one-time figure for owning Purser is given to you in writing during or after the walkthrough, and nothing on the website is an offer at a specific price.
What we promise, and what we don't
We promise that the descriptions on the site are true of Purser as it is at the date at the top of this page, and that the append-only history, the owned database and the verifiable export are real properties of the software, not aspirations. We do not promise that the website is available every minute, that a demo behaves identically in every browser, or that a figure produced by the cost calculator matches any particular vendor's pricing, because the rate in it is a stated sample.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the website or the demos. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Privacy
How we handle information is set out in the Privacy Notice, which is part of these terms.
Changes and law
If these terms change, the date above changes and the earlier version is available on request. These terms are governed by the law of the place where Periplus is established; if you need to know which that is for a contract, ask and we will tell you before you sign anything.
