The Agent Stops at the Door

Most agents on sale this year do their work while you're not looking. On the Purser desk they do it while you're watching, and then they stop.

An agent here reads the record, writes the reply, and stops. It can draft the note to Priya, pull her last order and the note that said to call after the 12th, and get the tone right. It can't send it. Nothing leaves the building until a person says yes, and both the yes and the no are sealed into the history with that person's name on them.

The same rule holds for the record itself. An agent can assemble a proposal: merge these two people, tag this deal, open this task. It can't apply one. The proposal waits, a person approves it, and the record shows who.

Your name on the send

• You stay the author. The note goes out from your address, in your words. The draft was a head start.
• Mistakes are cheap. A wrong draft costs a click. A wrong send costs a customer.
• The log reads like a log. Every run shows what it read, what it drafted, and where it stopped, with the time on each line.

Flows that wait for you

A flow is a row of blocks, and one of them is always a person. The welcome goes out the minute someone signs. The proposal step waits on you. The kickoff runs the moment the step before it clears, and not a minute earlier. The step stays yellow until a person says so, and the record shows who said it.

What it won't do

This is slower than letting the thing run. If you want a system that answers customers at three in the morning with nobody awake, Purser isn't it, and it won't be next year either. You sleep, and the draft is waiting in the morning.
